10A – Elevator Pitch No. 1
Hello!
I did focus on my background for my elevator pitch because I believe my experience and connections/where I have worked is very important for my idea , especially for the industry, because my connections are important and credibility is important.
Nobody wants a random guy on the street creating a financial service application. At least that's what I think and why I was establishing my credibility to sell my product.
I guess my whole mind set is disrupting the norm.

Cory, you did a wonderful job with your elevator pitch! It was a tad lengthy though, try to find ways to shorten it! I understand your reasoning for focusing on your background, but maybe do that later in the pitch. There is no hook in the beginning, so it will be hard to get someone to start listening to your idea. As for the video, you looked very professional! Maybe try to act more natural with your movements.
ReplyDeleteHey Cory,
ReplyDeleteI though your elevator pitch was very professional, lively, and well prepared. Like Jenna said, it did go a little over the time limit but the winning examples were similar in time so it seems like it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. It might be better to shorten your list of experiences. While it adds to your credibility, it seemed like it took an undue amount of your time. Maybe you could take some of that saved time and put it towards with a story where you needed your system.
Great job Cory! Very professional. Your outline was perfectly formatted. To save time, I would try not to use too many filler words. Natural movements also makes the conversation more believable. This makes it more believable and less forced.
