14A – Halfway Reflection

1) Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
I like to spot opportunities when I can , some might say that I look for flaws or I'm nitpicking but I poke at the little things in society for fun. It maybe for jokes but I think this lets me be real and break social norms to challenge the status quo in many things and see why we have to do things a certain way. I believe it is not only my creative side but my playful side that plays a part of finding opportunities.
But I also had a passion for my idea that is what is driving me to want to figure out how to improve on my own idea and question myself to become better.

2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?
There was a moment in school (actually multiple times throughout my education) where I felt I just wasn't good enough but I eventually said there is no point harping over it. I then set myself a realistic goal and focused on the work and eventually I peaked and did well after all those times of low morale.
Reflecting back , I don't think I have developed more tenaciousness personally as I feel I have already developed it over the years , but I definitely felt more of it for my idea and my passion for it has grown further. I think writing about the problem and thinking about it just made me more inspired to work on it as it just makes so much sense to me as the industry is just begging to be disrupted.

3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset' ?

1) Find something you are passionate about and build upon it.
2) Don't be afraid to challenge the norm
3) Don't be limited by your past , learn new knowledge and skills and work on new things.

Oh, and I think I might be crazy .... :p

  1. This class has tested me tenaciously. I've learned that I need to prioritize and seek out my greater goals. I like what you said about 1) Find something you are passionate about and build upon it. This is so important to me. Especially when it comes to working on and growing my small business, Theo Organics.
